Cervical radiculopathy, commonly known as a pinched nerve, is more common in adults and the elderly and rare in younger patients.
What is cervical radiculopathy?
A pinched nerve in the neck (cervical radiculopathy) occurs when a nerve is compressed or irritated as it exits the spinal column. Symptoms include radiating pain into the shoulder, arm, or hand, tingling, numbness, and weakness. Types include disc-related, degenerative, and traumatic radiculopathy.
What are the common causes of cervical radiculopathy?
Causes include herniated cervical discs, degenerative disc disease, foraminal stenosis, bone spurs, ligament thickening, spinal instability, or posture-related strain.
How is cervical radiculopathy diagnosed?
